Window Display Contest

Saturday, August 18th - Sunday, August 26th

Kamloops Pride is inviting downtown businesses to participate in the 2018 Pride Week Display Contest! The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place displays will be selected by a panel of judges, while a fan favourite winner will determined by social media vote. There are prizes to be won!

To participate in the contest, businesses must notify Kamloops Pride by emailing info@kamloopspride.com with "Window Display" in the subject line before Friday, August 17th.

Living LGBTQ2S+ A Panel Discussion

Tuesday, August 21st

Join Kamloops Pride for "Living LGBTQ2S+: A Panel Discussion" happening from 5:30-7:30PM on Tuesday, August 21st presented in part by the Kaleidoscope Support Association at the downtown Kamloops Library (100-465 Victoria Street). All ages are welcome to attend this free event. 

Seating is limited and will be first come, first served. 

Light refreshments will be available.

"Who You Laughing At?" Comedy Night

Wednesday, August 22nd

Join Kamloops Pride at the Commodore Grand Cafe & Lounge for a night full of laughs! Stand-up comedian Adrienne Fish brings her act to Kamloops for Pride Week, featuring Vancouver-based comedian Steve Letts and improv from Kamloops' own The Freudian Slips.'

Tickets are $25 in advance. This event has limited capacity so get your tickets soon! Any remaining will be $30 at the door. 19+, doors at 7:00PM, show at 8:00pm

"Night Lights" Drag Show

Thursday, August 23rd

Join Kamloops Pride for a glamour-filled night celebrating the art of drag! Vancouver-based drag performers Raye Sunshine, Alma B*tches and Rose Butch will take the stage at The Blue Grotto and provide an unforgettable night chocked-full of show-stopping numbers. 

Doors open at 7PM, the show starts at 8PM. $20 in advance. $25 at the door. 19+.

 

Express Yourself Exhibition and Art Crawl

Friday, August 24th

STOP #1 - OPEN 12:00PM-6:00PM
Kamloops United Church (421 St. Paul Street) 
Kick things off at the Kamloops United Church and take in the "Express Yourself" exhibition featuring pieces created by LGBTQ2S+ artists and allies. Also, stop here to make signs for the parade on Sunday!

STOP #2 - OPEN 5:00PM-9:00PM
Office of Surrealist Investigations (135 Victoria Street)
Continue the crawl by heading to the Office of Surrealist Investigations for button making and performance art by Lino Caputo. 

STOP #3 - OPEN 7:00PM-10:00PM
REpublic Gallery (#102-275 Lansdowne Street)
Lastly, end the night at REpublic with screen printing, art and drinks at this all-ages party! 

All ages welcome at all events. Entry by donation. Upon arrival, pick up an art crawl passport and get it stamped at all three locations for a chance to win Kamloops Pride swag!

"Express Yourself" Dance

Saturday, August 25th

Join us to dance the night away at "Express Yourself" on Saturday, August 25th at Shark Club Kamloops (285 Lorne St.) from 9PM to late, as part of SOUND Saturdays. Advance tickets are $10. Proceeds from all advance ticket sales go directly to Kamloops Pride. $15 at the door. 19+.

2nd Annual Kamloops Pride Parade

Sunday, August 26th, 2018

Join Kamloops Pride for the 2nd Annual Downtown Kamloops Pride Parade on Sunday, August 26th! This important event is a celebration of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning and Two Spirit (LGBTQ2S+) community and a reminder of the work that still remains. 

 

WATCH THE PARADE.

Gather your family, friends, and loved ones and head down to watch the Pride Parade on Sunday, August 26th. The procession will begin at 11:00AM from Riverside Park. Details of the route will be released in the weeks to come.

Registration is free for individuals and you are able to register up until the morning of the parade. 

Motorized vehicles are not permitted in the parade, however mobility aids, bicycles, small wagons etc. are allowed.
